Project Outline
Sheffield’s municipal market is being relocated, and when the 1950s building is demolished it is expected that the ruins of a mediaeval castle will be revealed underneath. This will be the catalyst for regeneration of the area. Development options adjacent to the site were explored by thinning and re-arranging an under-used carridgeway. The aim is to create suitable development plots, public spaces, and to reinforce way-finding across the east/west axis between the city centre and Victoria Quays.
